There is a common belief that, one should invest money on some business in their early life in order to lead a good life. But one person said that it is not entirely true. He is not an ordinary person. Once he was the second richest person in China. Till now he is one of the wealthiest people in China. His name is lee shau kee. He was born in 1928 and he is 93 years old today. He was the founder of famous real estate company Henderson land development. He stated that quality education is the best investment in one’s life. It is the only investment which returns multiple times of profit and sometimes the profit is immeasurable. So, he established lee shau kee foundation. It is the educational foundation that provides opportunities to the students to gain quality education. He is a real estate tycoon and a philanthropist. He donated a large amount of his earning to charity. For example, in 1982, he established the Pei Hua Educational Foundation.

It is an educational institution which provides educational and training opportunities to the young people in mainland China. In 2005, he donated about 300 million RMB to launch the largest farmer training program in China named, the warmth project. Later in 2005, he donated 50 million HKD to the Chinese University of Hong Kong for development. In 2007, he contributed HDK 500 million to University of Hong Kong and HDK 400 million to the Hong Kong University Science and technology. These are just the beginning of his contributions to education. He balanced his philanthropic work and his business for years. Then he announced his retirement from his business in 2014.He gave up his business to his sons Peter Lee and Martin Lee. With the help of his contributions Chinese government enhanced the educational standards of many universities.
