YUTAKA KONO APPOINTED AS ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
The Burlington Chamber Orchestra is very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Yutaka Kono as our new Artist Director. The Orchestra has not had an Artistic Director since founding Artist Director Michael Hopkins stepped down in 2010 to take a faculty position at the University of Michigan School of Music. Dr. Kono will take over the podium officially at the first concert of our 2015-2016 season. We look forward to our collaboration with Yutaka and even more great concerts in seasons to come!
On Thursday, January 22, 2015 a reception was held in the Juniper Room at Hotel Vermont to officially celebrate the announcement of Dr. Kono’s appointment as Artist Director. Music was provided by members of the orchestra. Hors d'oeuvres were served, with cheese from Cabot Cooperative and chocolates provided by Lake Champlain Chocolates.
