Nadine Carpenter has been the Affiliate Artist/Oboe Teacher at the University of Vermont since 2004 and at St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT since 2006. She was a music educator in both New York and Vermont public schools for about 10 years and has been active as a performer and private oboe teacher in Vermont since 1978. Among the groups with which she has performed are Burlington Chamber Orchestra (presently), Vermont Mozart Festival, Opera Company of Middlebury, Middlebury College Orchestra; Schenectady, Plattsburgh and UVM Symphony Orchestras; Capital District Opera Company in Albany, NY; Schenectady Light Opera Company, Lyric Theater in Burlington and Vermont Bach Winds. She has a B.S. in Music Education from Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and has studied with Robert Sprenkle from Eastman School of Music and G. Randall Ellis from SUNY Albany. Nadine Carpenter resides with her husband, Allan, in South Burlington, Vermont.
