2016 Young Artist Solo Competition Winner

Tommy Bergeron is a 15 year old sophomore at Essex High School in Essex Junction, Vermont. Tommy has studied horn under the tutelage of Alan Parshley for the past seven years. Tommy has been a member of the Vermont Youth Orchestra for 3 years and is a member of the Essex Wind Ensemble. Tommy has participated in District, All State and All New England Music Festivals and was awarded the Brass Performance Scholarship for the 2016 All State Music Festival. He has performed in master classes with Jennifer Montone, Ellen Dinwiddie Smith and Radovan Vlatkovic. A well-rounded musician, Tommy is also involved in many other musical activities. He began piano studies at the age of four and sings in the Essex High School Chamber Choir, the Flynn Show Choir, and participated in the 2016 ACDA honor choir. Tommy also enjoys participating in drama productions at EHS and the Flynn Summer Arts programs and even served as the music director for Albert D. Lawton’s musical productions for the past two springs. Tommy aspires to pursue music in the future.
