2014 Young Artist Solo Competition Winner

16-year-old Cameron Zweber began playing Suzuki violin at the age of 5. He is extremely grateful to all of his Suzuki teachers for their excellence in nurturing his love of the violin. Kathy Post for 6 years of patience and hard work, Pam Reit for her high standards and musicality, and Ira Morris for truly challenging him the last 4 years.

Cameron is an avid chamber musician and has spent several summers at chamber music programs such as Kinhaven, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. Foulger International Music Festival, and most recently at the Castleman Quartet program, where he studied with renowned American violinist, Charles Castleman.

Mr. Zweber has twice been the recipient of the Sergio Franchi Scholarship and has performed at the annual concert in Stonington, Connecticut. Cameron has also performed at the Caspian Music series here in Vermont, as well as the Young Artists Program at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Cameron is the current concertmaster of the Vermont Youth Orchestra and has recently been named an alternate for the National Youth Orchestra of the United States (keep your fingers crossed)!
